Tokyo is one of them, uh I'm nuts for Spain, Seville and uh I like uh Barcelona and also other towns Kyoto in Japan In the United States I really like Tucson and I like uh for playin Madison Wisconsin is real good real great audience there

and uh I like playin a lot of the beach towns in California, Santa Cruz is real good Lotta different things I like

One last question It's a big one What's the meaning of life according to Jonathan Richman?

oh yeah, that's a very good question You had one too didn't you?

well there was another question that I thought was very good that Joe also brought up, what comes to you first?

Jonathan Richman
yeah which comes first would mean the lyric or the words, the music, if something the idea for the song comes first I make it up like a lot of times I make up I don't even sometimes I don't write these songs down Do they come to me all in one bunch you also asked I guess ? Sometimes yeah some of them are made up I made up right on stage some of them are made up in the recording studio

like uh, I once called out "Double Chocolate Malted" and the band in the studio just started playin it and we made it up right there

that's a good song too, that was a good way to do it

yeah that's why I say I don't have influences it's not concerts I don't compose these things some people compose, some people write, I make things up

yeah that canoe ride was real hectic and now the Italian restaurant I got one hectic thing after another boy this touring is hard work I don't recommend it for anyone Oh it's so tough
